Jennifer Eardley is an Associate Vice Chancellor for Research and the Interim Director of the Division of Biomedical Sciences. She is responsible for the development of programs and oversight of day-to-day operations of the Division. As Interim Director, Dr. Eardley manages the establishment of strategic research initiatives in the life sciences, facilitates interdisciplinary research and exchange and coordinates development of large multidisciplinary research proposals in priority areas. She also serves as liaison to the federal funding agencies and philanthropic foundations that support biomedical-related research and is responsible for contractual negotiations with clinical providers and other research partners. In addition, Dr. Eardley developed and manages the campus human stem cell research oversight process. After earning a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from Johns Hopkins University and completing a NRSA Immunology Fellowship at the University of Maryland Center for Vaccine Development, Dr. Eardley joined the University of Illinois where she has held positions as Associate Director of Corporate Relations and Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research.
